Hanspeter Kriesi is a part-time professor at the European University Institute in Florence, where he works on the SOLID project. He is also affiliated to the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Russian Federation. Previously, he held the Stein Rokkan Chair in Comparative Politics at the EUI after he had been a professor of collective political behavior at the University of Amsterdam, and of comparative politics at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich. His wide-ranging research interests include the study of democracy, political communication, political mobilization, opinion formation, electoral behavior and of crisis management in the European Union. 2016 he was invited to the Francqui Chair at the University of Leuven, in 2017 he has received the Mattei-Dogan Prize.
